About Rajmata Shanti Devi Memorial PM SHRI Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Taklech

Nestled in the serene Himalayan foothills of Taklech, 20 km from Rampur Bushahr, Rajmata Shanti Devi Memorial PM SHRI Govt. Model Senior Secondary School has been a beacon of educational excellence since its establishment in 1948. Our institution's remarkable journey began as a modest primary school founded by Ashoka Ashram Kalsi, Dehradun, evolving through several transformative phases - from becoming Janta Middle School under the Bushahr Royal Family's patronage in 1956, to its acquisition by the Himachal Pradesh Government in 1960. The school achieved high school status in 1982 and was upgraded to Senior Secondary in 1997, before being renamed in 2006 to honor Rajmata Shanti Devi. Our most recent milestone came in 2022-23 with selection as a PM SHRI Model School, recognizing our commitment to quality education.

Today, we proudly offer comprehensive HP Board curriculum from Classes 6-12 across Science (Medical/Non-Medical), Commerce, and Humanities streams, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure including digital smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and a resource-rich library. Beyond academics, we provide NSDC-certified vocational training in Healthcare and Telecommunication, excellent sports facilities, and vibrant programs in arts, debate, and sustainability through our active Eco Club.
