Introduction

GSSS Taklech also offers Healthcare Vocational Courses to help students learn how to care for patients in hospitals, clinics, and even in people’s homes.

These courses are great for students who want to work in healthcare and help others.

They are part of the Skill India Mission and follow NSQF guidelines, which make sure the training is of good quality and is recognized everywhere.

What Is NSQF?

NSQF stands forb National Skill Qualification Framework.

Think of it as levels or steps.

  • Level 1 is for beginners.
  • Level 2 teaches a bit more.
  • Levels 3 and 4 teach even more advanced skills.

Our Healthcare courses are at Levels 3 and 4, for Classes 9 to 12.

Home Health Aide (HHA)

For Classes 9 and 10 (NSQF Level 3)

Who is a Home Health Aide?

A Home Health Aide helps take care of patients at their homes, especially elderly or disabled people who need help with daily activities.

What Students Learn

  • Basic understanding of how the human body works.
  • How to help patients stay clean and healthy.
  • Feeding, bathing, and moving patients safely.
  • How to measure temperature, pulse, and breathing.
  • How to talk kindly and respectfully to patients.
  • How to keep everything clean to prevent infections.
  • Safety steps in case of emergencies.

Tools and Equipment Used

  • Thermometer.
  • Blood pressure monitor..
  • Glucometer for sugar testing (demo).
  • Wheelchairs, walkers.
  • CPR mannequins for practice.

Assessment

  • Written tests with simple questions.
  • Practical demonstrations.
  • Oral questions about patient care.

After Completing This Course

  • Work as a Home Health Aide in private homes or care centers.
  • Get entry-level jobs in hospitals or nursing homes.
  • Move on to General Duty Assistant or nursing courses.

General Duty Assistant (GDA)

For Classes 11 and 12 (NSQF Level 4)

Who is a General Duty Assistant?

A GDA helps nurses and doctors in hospitals and clinics. They make sure patients are comfortable and safe.

What Students Learn

  • How hospitals and clinics work.
  • Basic nursing skills like bed making and sponge baths.
  • Measuring temperature, pulse, and BP.
  • Helping patients with eating, using the toilet, and moving.
  • Keeping rooms clean and hygienic.
  • Preventing infections and following safety rules.
  • Talking respectfully with patients and families.

Skills Practiced

  • Taking care of patients at their bedside.
  • Using hospital tools like beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
  • Taking and recording vital signs.
  • First aid and basic CPR.

Tools and Equipment Used

  • Hospital beds and sheets.
  • Wheelchairs and walkers.
  • Thermometers and BP monitors.
  • Glucometers.
  • First aid kits and CPR mannequins.

Assessment

  • Written tests.
  • Doing real tasks in class.
  • Oral interviews about patient care.

After Completing This Course:

  • Work as a GDA in hospitals or clinics.
  • Work in old age homes or community health centers.
  • Continue studies to become an EMT, Nursing Assistant, or pursue ANM, GNM, or B.Sc. Nursing.

Integration in School Curriculum

  • Part of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan and NSQF.
  • Classes 9 to 12 get 200+ hours of learning each year.
  • Includes classroom lessons, practical practice, guest lectures, and field visits.
  • Certificates are recognized by NSDC and Health Sector Skill Council.
